· Technically, this happens due to your current NTFS-3G does not support the NTFS versions associated with the driver. · We always advise users to stay clear of Tuxera and other free schemes such as NTFS 3G because they are known to cause I/O write errors. The only driver that is recommended and stable is Paragon NTFS which you can buy for $19.95. You can not repair that disk using Disk Utility! I then proceeded to install MacFuse (for some reason the Fusion Install didn't prompt or install it) and Tuxera-NTFS so I could write to NTFS volumes. MacFuse + Tuxera-NTFS are working fine for writing to physical NTFS disks, but when I mount a VMware Virtual Disk with VMDKMounter it is mounted Read Only with the default Mac OS ntfs.fs.
